Please can you file a bug report against [OpenID transaction in progress](https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-desktop-provision/+filebug)

If you haven’t already please add a test result of failure on [tests.ubuntu.com](http://tests.ubuntu.com) - or just link the bug report here and I’ll add a test result with the bug number.

Cheers

Reply from the launchpad maintainers

> Hi, this issue is due to a recent change in stonking for apt (specifically switching from gpgv to sqv) wihch causes issues on older PPAs which were created with SHA1 uid bindings. We are working on getting this issue resolved before the stonking release and also working on some short term mitigations specifically for the Launchpad buildd environments.

Worth a bug report on the refind package - looks like this “base-files” change was intentional - the information is now in /etc/os-release

Yes, /etc/os-release is a link to /usr/lib/os-release I edited.
I think, this isn’t a bug; rEFInd just gets its information from “DISTRIB\_ID” which is not originally found in /etc/lsb-release.

Thanks, David.

I submitted the bug report:

But I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do on [tests.ubuntu.com](http://tests.ubuntu.com/).

Weird and not very consistent…

I couldn’t run the updates with:

```auto
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
```

But while I was trying, the update manager launched and complained that my internet connection was preventing it from updating the repository list (even though it found 506 packages to update).

And I was able to do it by clicking the “Install” button. 🤔

**PS:** PPA and keyboard disposition fixed in 2026.10.07 ISO! 😃

Many thanks everyone for helping to test in this cycle.
