Hello, I can’t lock my computer either using win+L keys or using the menu in the top right. Neither has any affect whats so ever. My laptop is fairly old but am hoping not to upgrade.
Its a Lenovo ThinkPad E470. Hope some one can help. This is really annoying when on the move.

If you need anything else to help please let me know.
Thanks,

Have you checked if you have this package installed?

this turned out to be, strangely the lock screen being disabled. The below command fixed it.

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen false

`disable [...] false`, I’ve never understood those twisted wordings. 🤒
