Ethernet Keeps Timing Out at Complete Random

I’ve been fighting this issue for the past two or so weeks and it’s driving me insane. So, while using my computer, my internet will randomly drop. If I look at my motherboard where the ethernet cable is connected, where there is a green and an orange light, the orange light will be gone but the green light is still there.

The only way to resolve this issue is to restart my computer when it happens. I’ve tried restarting NetworkManager after it happens, but not only does it not resolve the issue but it seems like it disables the ability to detect wired networks (when I try to flip the toggle in settings it just flickers back to off). I’ve tried messing with power management for the port but that has done nothing. I disabled EEE and that seems to of worked for some days but the issue has returned.

I’ve asked elsewhere for help but didn’t get anything, I couldn’t ask on AskUbuntu bc I need an account and for some reason it wouldn’t let me make one. This issue is plaguing me and idk what to do about it, coming from someone with minimal knowledge of linux in general. I never experienced this issue on Windows previously, and I only started experiencing it recently after updates it seems. I’m on ubuntu 25.10 if that helps any.

I believe my issue is that auto-negotiation is on, and I had a script made to have it disabled, but now that script isn’t working and even command lines telling it to turn it off is not working.
