From my experiences using Ubuntu Budgie, the file manager Nemo is noticeably snappy and quick when moving in and out of directories when compared to ANY other distro I’ve used Nemo on, including Linux Mint.
I’m seriously impressed. How did you guys manage to pull it off? I would prefer a detailed answer.

Its actually very simple - we haven’t added any tools/plugins etc that monitor folder contents. Tracker isn’t enabled in our version of Nemo - so there isn’t very much “listening” for folder navigation changes.
