Here’s the error message from terminal:

> Repairing installation, linking _(my home directory)_/.steam/steam to _(home directory)_/.local/share/Steam
> Running Steam on ubuntu 18.04 64-bit
> STEAM\_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
> Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0)
> _(my home directory)_/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12\_32/steam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libxcb-dri3.so.0: undefined symbol: xcb\_send\_request\_with\_fds
> _(home directory)_/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 444: no match: ssfn\*

Interesting given snaps aren’t working for me either…

Stupid question: Ubuntu Budgie launchpad or Ubuntu Ubuntu launchpad? Thanks!

if you run that terminal command then it will report against the steam package on launchpad

i.e. [launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam](http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam)

That gave me an error dialogue box saying it couldn’t report a package not there (!?), with the following in terminal:

> Gtk-Message: 11:37:39.547: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.

Strange this is like the Snap problem, in that it doesn’t seem to recognize all these things are installed… I’ll report the bug manually.
