I attemted to upgrade to 18.10, I got a message with something about the pc being in an unusable state and dpkg something -a will be run.
I figured I’ll retry the upgrade after a reboot, but after a reboot there are no updates.
Is it fine or should I take any action?
If there are no issues running the following then you will be ok
sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
uname -a
That should tell you that you are on the 4.18 kernel

Those ran fine. 
Whondering what error it was.
Well I have had no problems running stable (except the hotkeys, what have their own thread), I ran the commands from costales, nothing was changed.
