18.04 - No option to encrypt home directory?

I have separate home and / directories.

In Ubuntu 16.04 there was an option to encrypt the home partition, however this option seems to have been removed in favour of full disk encryption.

Does this mean it is no longer possible to have separate home and / partitions while at least keeping the home partition encrypted?

My options seems to be:

  1. Yes encrypted home folder. No separate home and / partitions

  2. No encrypted home folder. Yes separate home and / partitions.

What I want is: Yes encrypted home folder. Yes separate home and / partitions

that doesn’t sound correct.

please file a bug report against ubiquity i.e.

ubuntu-bug ubiquity

add a tag “iso-testing”
