Upgrade from 18.10 to 19.04 through software updater

I have ‘/’ and ‘/home’ on separate partitions and there is a second disk. If I use the software updater to do the version update, will it respect that, or might it ignore it, do a standard installation and wreck my data partition?

I assume it will cater for that, but I need to be certain, as if not the consequences would be disastrous. (I have got a backup :slight_smile:)

It will respect your layout.

But… safety first, good to hear you have a full system backup :slight_smile:

Worked perfectly, slower but much less nerve-racking than re-installing the system. Better for novices.
