Hi, I switched to budgie from mint as it looks amazing however, if I open additional drivers menu I am no longer able to install apps due to no password prompt popping up. This is a new install (did it twice in case first install went wrong), no updates showing but sudo apt upgrade did update a few. If I restart everything is fine again until I open additional drivers menu then as issue happens. I have left searching for additional drivers and nothing happens for 10 minutes so I restart. Device is a dell xps 13 9305.
interesting. I can’t reproduce this issue.
However try this.
killall budgie-polkit-dialog
/usr/libexec/budgie-desktop/budgie-polkit-dialog &
Then try the additional drivers menu again.
That did not work. So altough the additional drivers fails to do anything the issue can be triggered without opening the the additiobal drivers window so i think that was just coincidence. The issue is with the app store only. If I open and close it a few time the session is hanging and the only way i have found to restart it is to restart the laptop anoyingly. After some searching online this is a common issue with dell xps. I will try full unbuntu and see if its still there but im sure it will be.
Also the shutdown/restart buttons dont work what the system is in this state and i have to use termial to shutdown.
