I guess it’s not broken, but something on my side with wrong settings ???
For some weeks now, no devices ever appeared through DropBy applet ( usb devices, or cd/dvd ).
They correctly appear in Places applet though.
UBudgie 18.04 w/ ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntubudgie/backports/ubuntu enabled.
Where to look at ?
from a command line can you run
budgie-panel --replace &
Then insert a USB device.
Any errors or warnings displayed in the terminal ?

Should be visible a little above the trash.
Sometimes when I insert a usb stick it happens to pop a dark grey arrow near the panel where DropBy icon should appear as if its window could not be drawn.
I can’t manage to take a screenshot of this because as soon as I click anywhere on the screen, the little arrow disappears.
Seems like an icon issue? Dropby should not be visible unless a usb device is inserted, then the icon should appear. Did you add remove anything manually that might have removed the icon? Maybe an issue with the icon and css? what are your theme settings?
Icon issue, I don’t think so, or not only since it’s the whole applet dialog that is not drawn.
Or maybe the first blocks the second.
Theme is Adapta, icons are Papirus. Edit : and DropBy applet used to show with these.
If you run budgie-panel --replace&, keep it running, does it show anything interesting if you connect a usb device?

Once again, when I plug the usb stick something happens - little grey arrow, but I can’t screenshot that, seems at that particular moment the printscreen key no longer works, and desktop is kind of frozen. I have to click once anywhere on the screen to get rid of the grey arrow, then everything works again.

Ah, wait, didn’t read upwards. Unfortunately, cannot reproduce.
Are there any cache or config files one might clean or purge regarding DropBy Applet ?

⋅ I’ve set back Pocillo for theme and icons,
⋅ I’ve deleted my left panel to rebuild one with only DropBy and Icon Task Lists
→ no success, no working DropBy ever.
