Error message with Ubuntu budgie

A system error popped up when I tried either Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Ubuntu Budgie 24.04 LTS on a USB but not Zorin OS which is still based on 22.04. I don’t know what the error message is about on Budgie as it only asked me whether I wanted to report it but had no details. But on Ubuntu I managed to screen grab the error messages:

I don’t know whether this is the same error for Budgie but in both scenario an error popped up soon after I connected an external Seegate hard drive so I presume the error is the same in Ubuntu Budgie and Ubuntu
What is this error about, and is there a way to know what error the Budgie is detecting?

This is the rest of the error message on Ubuntu

The installer informs you to report the issue to launchpad. Please do so.

When the crash occurs send the report.

In a terminal you can also use

ubuntu-bug ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap

Hi @mdt!

The Zorin brothers have often mocked for releasing new versions just before the new Ubuntu LTS, but at least users do not have (inter alia) this kind of problem related to the new installer Subiquity — at the same time, since version 17.2, they are starting to experiment with those related to certain versions of the 6.8.0-xx kernel.
This is a known issue. It has been reported several times.

in relation to your description and to the error messages, you may want to try to manually refresh the Subiquity snap in the live environment… and wait for a fix.

Ah thanks. So the error message relates to the installer? Does that mean if I can somehow successfully installed Ubuntu budgie on my laptop despite the error message, the resulting installation should be fine and I am unlikely to encounter any more of this error message once I have removed the installer USB?

I think so. If there aren’t any other blocking errors that prevent the installation from finishing. Anyway, there’s no harm trying: it’s the only way to know…
I’d do that if I were you, maybe with a new ISO.
