It is recommended to add a language switch at the top of the desktop (Ubuntu22.04)

Easy to switch to non-English speaking countries, convenient to optimize the translation problem,
simple and direct, just like the website, at any time to switch languages, do not have to go to other Settings, but also log out,
toggle

I think you are referring to the keyboard layout applet that is available in budgie-desktop-settings - panel - add applet

What I want to achieve is this, I can switch between Chinese and English without having to log out.

To be honest i dont know how that would be implemented

The applet i was referring to allows you to type in chinese (assuming that you have installed libpinyin and other stuff) and then switch to another keyboard language input

  • This utility is probably only known to developers.Very useful.
