I came across the LabWC theme by chance; it should work perfectly with Budgie 26.04 wayland, so I recommend its official integration into Budgie.
Features
-
Preconfigured Themes - Preconfigured color schemes for labwc, GTK3, GTK4, Rofi, and waybar.
-
Wallpaper-Based Color Generation - Generate themes from wallpapers using Matugen.
-
Rofi Applets - Useful Rofi Applets
-
Audio Feedback - Plays audio on system login and hardware changes.
-
Dynamic Desktop Menu - A Python-based menu generator that builds beautiful, icon-rich labwc root menus with optional custom headers.
-
Idle Management - Manage screen dimming, locking and device suspension.
-
Immersive Hyprlock - Matugen-themed lockscreen with ‘Now Playing’ album art and direct wallpaper background rendering (not simple screenshot).
-
Wallpaper Picker On Steroids - Handles both images and GIFs. It toggles system theme (dark/light) based on generated color scheme, extracts GIF frame for lockscreen consistency, and analyzes wallpaper brightness to generate readable text colors for Hyprlock.
And many more…
There seems to be many component parts of this project.
What specifically should be integrated? If you can point to the specific code that should be looked at then that would be very useful.
On the login screen (ubuntu budgie 26.04 wayland(labwc)), select labwc to access the desktop and perform standard office tasks.
For software such as Folder Manager, Terminal, OnlyOffice, and VS Code ,etc…, use the traffic light effect on the close/zoom in/zoom out icons in the upper right corner.
For PC hosts with separate monitors: Turn off the monitor power for 30 minutes, then turn it back on to resolve the issue where the Budgie Panel and Crystal Dock do not disappear from the desktop (ubuntu budgie 26.04 wayland(labwc)).
You have tagged this as themes related. Your reply has nothing to-do about themes. So i am confused why you have raised this as something to be added to budgie
Currently, the official LabWC login theme for Budgie 26.04 is completely unusable—the login screen displays nothing but black text. My response pertains to the theme’s functionality, though it may not be entirely professional; please bear with me.
My suggestion is that using this theme might resolve the issue where closing and reopening the monitor power causes the Budgie panel and Crystal Dock to disappear. You should migrate this functional theme to the current LabWC login theme—it would at least enhance usability for Budgie users.
