Unfortunately, I have not been able to get my hands on one of the Pi5’s, as they are still quite hard to get in the US. I have a couple on “preorder / backorder”, so while I am carefully following along this thread, I am playing the waiting game until mine arrives and I can start playing around.
So in the meantime @puffettacicciottella, I do also appreciate your efforts here. Thank you!
You can’t imagine how much I’m appreciating your suggestion … I’ve done a fresh installation of Budgie-raspi-23.10, accessed it from Ctrl-Alt-F5 terminal, installed raspi-config from mantic - universe (gldriver pretended it) then [dpkg -i]-ed (sorry for new verb ) gldriver-test_0.15_all.deb previously downloaded, rebooted and …
Project team member Sam will not get his Pi5 until Jan at the earliest - so the only knowledge I have is the excellent findings made by community member @puffettacicciottella above.
So - yeah - looks like switching to a TTY terminal and installing the raspi-config package from the ubuntu repos + gldriver-test from debian via a USB stick should hopefully work for you.
The issue raised by @puffettacicciottella on launchpad is at least on Canonical’s radar. No resolution so far but cross-fingers should be resolved at least by 24.04.
