So i think Raven is the most useful UI features that i have seen in a while. Its out of the way and takes no time to get to it and its right there.
I am wondering whats happening with making it accept more applets. I hope its stil being worked on.
anyway, tia
We already ship one applet called budgie-analogue-applet which is in the backports PPA. This adds itself to raven if requested.
It really is for the fabulous 3rd party devs out there to add more of their creations in this area.
Thats great to hear, but…
It also means nothing to me. Im not a coder. I cant compile and install things from github. I dont know how and if you explained it i would nod along and not hear a word.
I see this in a lot of reddit answers (terrible place) and I just feel like an old person.
I think a lot of answers confound even those of us who got our hands dirty on a 386 and autoexec.bat but never went to programming school.
github responses, or worse an outdated and incorrect response from reddit from 2018 does not help a dude who has been using Windows 10 for years and Win 7 for ages before that.
I really just wanna know when can I add an applet, without doing anything extra, to Raven and its done.
Budgie is a wonderful UI. KDE is too heavy and Gnome is like a tablet interface.
I dont care for ‘ricing’ or doing any heavy customizations with extensions and Budgie can do that..
I just want to move some of those applets off of the taskbar and in to Raven.
Anyway, i love how its clean but not dead boring so keep up the great work Budgie team.
