As you can see on my screenshot, the weekdays are not properly translated into used budgie default language (my case italian)

Weekdays are “normal” translated strings, and all weekdays are translated on transifex. Could you check on Budgie Settings -> WeatherShow what language settings are displayed in? The forecast strings are directly fetched from OWM in your language.
Also:

  • What is your (Ubuntu) Budgie version and how did you install?
  • Did you by any chance switch language lately (and back)

on budgie setting–>WeatherShow language is english; my ubuntu budgie is 19.10 and I’ve installed it by freash install by usb key. No switch language, installed in italian language.

about same situation, here, as for locales, but weekdays are correctly displayed in italian.

interesting. The key difference it looks like is the LANGUAGE

yours is LANGUAGE=it_IT:it:en_GB:en whereas @centoasa is LANGUAGE=it

Just wondering if there is an issue somewhere where the applet is expecting LANGUAGE=it_IT

afaik, since there is difference (???) between it_IT and it_CH, maybe it must be specified … Anyway centoasa could try to set LANGUAGE variable in .profile and see what happens.
