I spun up a 22.04 daily on my Thinkpad t510 and I see that the live CD still hangs due to the iommu setting. There will be something in the Release Notes about this right?

No. I assume this is intentional on Canonicals part.
Canonical will only add issues and workarounds in the release notes if it is covered by a launchpad issue.
I cant ask the Canonical release manager to add the issue since the bug report will be the first thing they ask for.

We do have our own … we only describe our own specific issues. General issues affecting all flavours we link to via Canonicals release notes.
