Sorry if this issue is out of topic here.
Budgie 24.04 comes with the Mate Calculator as the default calculator, but it displays an awful aspect ratio, being wider than it is tall, especially in scientific mode.
Is there anyway to change this, making it taller than it is wide?
I dont think so. As you can see, the button size is as big as the largest button with the most displayed text (“constante”)
Try qalculate-gtk as an alternative

Your suggestion of qalculate-gtk is quite impresive, but to be honest I prefer something a bit simpler. In the end, I replaced the mate-calc by the gnome-calculator. Thanks anyway
