Fresh install can't seem to change user photo?

Hello,

Just switched to my systems to Ubuntu budgie.

Have everything working and themed great. I have also ran updates and upgrades.

Now I want to change my user picture to a photo of each user. I can change to the included images just fine. But as soon as I try to use a custom photo the file explorer opens but the choose button stays greyed out and I can’t select anything.

Anyone able to help me get this fixed?

Is this a known bug or maybe an issue with my custom images resolution?

Last hurdle I need to overcome.

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

This is a known issue, with a fix in the works.

In the meantime, there is a workaround in this post that may help.

Thank you will give it a shot!

Hi,

a dirty workaround is to save your picture in /usr/share/pixmaps/budgie-faces (better if between 96x96 px and 512x512 px, in my opinion): this way you’ll find it among those Budgie suggests you.

Cheers

Anyway, your workaround is cleaner than mine, and multi-user. Brava, @puffettacicciottella!
