The task list applet doesn’t have a lot of love but the icon task list applet has been getting better and better. Are there any plans to add an option to extend the open program icon into a full size tab similar to the task list applet? It would facilitate users with small panels or small screens to reach the used app more easily.

From upstream point-of-view, budgie desktop v10.5 is now in feature freeze so no new features by upstream themselves in this series. Efforts will be in the future for v11 but I haven’t seen where requests for capability stuff like this should be made - its not going to be apparently via github.
