I Installed Ubuntu Budgie 24.10 from scratch on my old MacBook Air 2011. It does boot fine, but just after turning on the computer it shows a black screen with a small dash for about three minutes. After this time the Budgie logo shows up and the computer boots into Budgie desktop without further problems.
I don’t know what’s going on here. I see no grub menu and I cannot switch into verbose mode during the black screen phase. Any tips and hints on how I can investigate on this problem?

Have a look at this Q&A on how to use systemd-analyze blame to look at boot issues

@fossfreedom systemd-analyze time:
Startup finished in 3.686s (kernel) + 19.987s (userspace) = 23.673s graphical.target reached after 19.956s in userspace.
Most startup time consuming process: 11.745s gpu-manager.service
Does this mean that my problem is occuring before the boot process? What can it be?
