Mayday! I'm locked out of Budgie!

I went to check the correct operation of the applets offered on the ‘Budgie Extras’ page of ‘Budgie Welcome’ when “budgie-keyboard-autoswitch” locked me out of the Budgie environment:

Oops, something went wrong, etc...

I’ve tried a few things, from disabling the applet from a live session to disabling the English keyboard, but nothing works.

Finally, the alternative ‘GNOME’ desktop offers a lifeline! :ring_buoy:

Is there any way to get back on track without reinstalling?

hmm.

well one way is to move aside your dconf database - the consequence is that your desktop will return to the out-of-the box configuration and you’ll need to reapply everything again.

switch to a TTY - e.g. CTRL+ALT+F2
login with your username and password
then

mv .config/dconf/user .config/dconf/user.bak
reboot --

Thanks a lot, @fossfreedom , you’re a great guru!

I’m adding ‘budgie-keyboard-autoswitch’ to the list of things to change.
