Media Player top panel applet missing from 26.04?

I’m not sure where to put this question but I’m trying to get the “Media Player Applet” to show again in the Top Panel. The option doesn’t seem to be available any more for 26.04 LTS. Was this removed or independently authored?

It’s convenient to be able to have these controls available without having reopen raven each time.

What do you mean by it’s not available? Is it not appearing in the list of applets to add to a panel? The package is budgie-media-player-applet in our backports ppa

That’s correct. It’s not appearing in the list of applets to add from.

So just to confirm, the expectation is that it is available and supported in 26.04?

apt list budgie*applet

[...]

budgie-media-player-applet/resolute 1.3.0-0ubuntu1~resolute amd64

[...]

Also in Budgie Welcome.
You just need to wait until launchpadcontent is available.

You mean due to the attacks/outages? Or is there some other pending action?

I ask because the installation failed via the Budgies Extra app but the ubuntu services areshowing as all green this morning per https://status.canonical.com/

I totally understand if there’s service disruptions going on; just want to make sure I’m not missing something obvious on my local system.

PPAs are very slow - IPV6 connections have been reportedly disabled and IPV4 connections are very slow - but do eventually complete. Last night a simple update for me took 15 minutes which included updates from two PPAs.

Closing the loop on this one. I reinstalled budgie-media-player-applet and it’s working again.

Really odd considering it was displaying as installed on the Budgies Extra apps but oh well. I just uninstalled it from the UI and manually installed it from CLI.

Thanks all! Appreciate you!!
