Mpv not appearing in menu

I just installed mpv, but its desktop file (mpv.desktop) does not appear in menu.

I checked if the file has any NoDisplay set to true, but I found nothing so far

We deliberately hide that since it confuses people … gnome mpv (now celluloid) and mpv

So if you want it in you menu you need to put your own in .local/share/applications

Thanks! But sadly, it does not appears in configurations so I would set it as default video player

Last time I used gnome mpv I had some problems with video accelaration

Yes. It’s in the 20.04 repos and it’s the default video player on our iso

Can I install it in 19.10?

You will need to look to see if there is a snap/flatpak or ppa available
