"Open" and "Save As" menu options are too slow in all desktop applications

I have recently installed Budgie 24.04 and everything seems to be working fine, except for the fact that when I open an application and try to use the Open or the Save As oprions of the menu, it takes too long to open the file navigator/browser.
To illustrate what I am saying, I give an example with Thunderbird. If I receive an e-mail with attachments and try to save the attachments, I would expect the file navigator to be opened, like in the screenshot below. But this may take up to 60 seconds to happen!

And similar behavior happens with any desktop application when I use the menu options “Open” or “Save As”, or anything that implies to open a file navigator to browse the directories.
Does anybody have the same behavior? Any clues about the possible cause?

Oddly this person reported the same issue

Does the nvidia vs igpu apply to your setup?

UPDATE: I do have an Nvidia card but the problem is not there. I am now running the nouveau driver and the problem still persists.

IMPORTANT DETAIL: it only affects snaps. Applications installed through .deb packages or repository do not exhibit the problem.

Suggest the experts here that can help would be on the snapcraft forum

Sorry @fvroig, no problem with Thunderbird on my UB 24.04: the file explorer opens immediately when saving an attachment.
However, I have to say that I’ve replaced the snap format of Thunderbird with the .deb format.

You should give it a try.
