PROBLEM & Help please

Hi All

I’ve been using Budgie for almost 2 years and am really enjoying it.
Here’s my problem;
as a non technical person this baffles me:
E: The repository ‘cdrom://Ubuntu-Budgie 20.04.1 LTS Focal Fossa - Release amd64 (20200731) focal Release’ does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can’t be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

I’ve searched the forums for solution to no avail.
How do I resolve this?

Look for the app that is called “software updater” [I think] - or is available when run via a terminal command

software-properties-gtk

Untick the CD on your software sources

Thanks @fossfreedom
I don’t see CD on software sources. Here’s a screenshot.
Did I miss something?

I also got this error:

Think its on the “other software” tab

There is no CD option to tick.

It also says there’s no release file. Are there any more suggestions?

Please add a screenshot of your other software tab.

Also a screenshot after you have scrolled down on the Ubuntu Software tab - seems to be only a partial screenshot

Thanks for bearing with me

“Installation medium with Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa” - that should be unticked

All those “disabled on upgrade” rows can also be deleted to clean up

In a terminal run:

What is the output you see?

Of course, I will try be more helpful.
I have tried countless times to remove this protonvpn and element.

Where you are seeing:

You need to follow these instructions to resolve (alternate method)

Note:

That repo can be safely removed from software-updater - the Other Software tab
