I have observed that Software Updater (GUI) now unusually hangs on checking for updates.
It gets there (eventually) but I have been using it very regularly for the last three years without issue until now.
Checking for updates has occurred rapidly until now.
Everything else works without issue.
I am wondering if anyone out there is experiencing a similar occurrence and can provide an explanation for this hitch (glitch).
Launchpad and Ubuntu websites have had a lot of connectivity and speed issues over the last few weeks. As of yesterday on matrix speed was still reported as an issue.
Other than that, check what mirror you are connected to. Try another.
Also check what external repos you may have added/ppa’s you are using. Try disabling.
