Ive reported before but issue continues below is synaptic and software:
Please link here the bug report you made
[Bug 1861933] Re: Software 3.35.2 vs Synaptic shows different upgrades
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1709725 ***
From that report I dont consider gnome software the best mechanism for updates. So i have now disabled updates via gnome software.
UB uses the software & updates menu option which displays updates when they become available or when manually run.
Not quite clear; have you disabled Synaptic? What is UB? Software does not show software and updates reliably up till now for this happy camper; you might recall I advised it wasnt even searching for software reliably.
No! I have disabled the updates tab in gnome software
UB = Ubuntu Budgie
I just uninstall gnome software because synaptic and cli is all I need
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
Elementary OS had their own software centre which actually made them a bit of money and worked well. This does not seem to be the goal of Budgie. Software is pretty good visually, but unreliable under the bonnet todate.

Software updater seems to work just fine.
Great, so you have replicated what I did, and Synaptic and Software are in sync?
