Hi
I installed Ubuntu Budgie on my new laptop, and so far, I’m very pleased with it
I used Gnome with Ubuntu 20.04 previously, and I feel Budgie more reactive and simple to use
However, something really annoying me (otherwise I will not write this message)
Previously, with Gnome, the workspaces was vertical with a new one automatically created when I used the “last” one
I work this way, one application per workspace
Ok, now it’s horizontal and the number is more or less fixed, but I can add one more manually by clicking the “+” in the applet
So I can live with this
My real problem, is when I’m switching from one workspace to another, and I’m doing this constantly, thousand of time per day, the application in the workspace doesn’t become active !
I have to click on it, to activate it , always, each time, all the time … even if it’s the only application in the workspace
This was working with Gnome and this is working with KDE which is now installed on my desktop
Example :
I want to copy some text from a web page in Firefox to a text file open in Gedit , each are in a separate workspace
- select the text in FF
- Ctrl+Alt+ right arrow
- select GEdit
- Paste
- Ctrl+Alt+ left arrow
- select FF
- select the text and copy it
- Ctrl+Alt+ right arrow
- select GEdit
- Paste
- Ctrl+Alt+ left arrow
- select FF
… and so on
“select FF” and “select GEdit” shouldn’t be there !
This make me waste a lot of time (as I need to grab the mouse each time)
Did I missed a parameter somewhere to automatically activate the last application when switching workspace ?
Thanks in advance for your help
Best regards
