23.10 screen lock

hi,
after recently upgrading to 23.10, my screen lock is not working either.
I tried all the suggestions in the 23.04 screen lock thread, nothing works

if I do:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen false
then pressing SP->L will lock the screen again, but the budgie control center
settings for automatic screen lock remain ghosted out, and whenever I logout and login again,

gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen
shows true again.
so something keeps disabling it again at login time.

I assume this is something leftover from the upgrade process but I haven’t found it yet. Any ideas?

thanks
Ken

Can you please screenshot what budgie control center settings looks like?

see snapshot. note how the slider bar to turn on/off automatic screen lock is ghosted out and cannot be clicked on.

thanks

Ken

Ah. I wanted to see if you had fractional scaling enabled but you have cropped the image.

I see. Turns out that was on, but was set to 100%

I turned it off, logged out and logged in again, but still the automatic screen lock is still greyed out in budgie control center.

but,
settings get org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen
shows false now, so some progress!
