With the update to version 26.04, we lost some useful features.
The bottom panel used to display a list of icons for pinned and running applications. A secondary click on an icon allowed access to secondary functions of the *.desktop definition, for example, “open a private browsing window.”
The new dock, while aesthetically pleasing, no longer offers this type of functionality.
Another annoying detail: the Workspace Switcher applet no longer displays the icons of applications present in each workspace.
This allowed users to move an application from one workspace to another.

With regards to the workspace applet. This is a known limitation of the window manager labwc. We are tracking the enhancements being proposed upstream for wlroots plus labwc and we hope to see progress in this area for the release at the end of this month
