The Workspace Switcher applet used to show icons of open applications in Ubuntu Budgie 24.04. The icons were extremely useful to switch workspaces and applications since they were selectable(clickable). Now, in 26.04, there are no icons at all.
Is there any way to regain that functionality?

Two applications open in Workspace1 and 3 applications in Workspace2
This is a limitation of labwc. Unfortunately checking the version of labwc in 26.10 this hasnt been fixed.
Running budgie over wayfire has the opposite issue … apps show in the switcher but you cant see other workspaces. Currently waiting to see if the proposed new version of wayfire (to be released) fixes this.
