New to Linux, love the Budgie DE. Just wanted to know if it is possible to disable or remove Snap from UB 24.04 and if so what issues (if any) would that bring?
No real issues other than removing the default snaps … firefox, thunderbird and budgie-welcome.
sudo apt remove snapd
Does the app center use other repos than Snap?
Ah… yes… i forgot. App-center disappears as well.
So for the replacements you can add the mozilla repository to install firefox and thunderbird deb packages. Gnome-software is a potential replacement for app-center.
We dont offer a deb package for budgie-welcome.
