Defining a default display for some programs?

Hi,

I am new to budgie while it was pre-installed on my new computer, but I like it. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have three displays and I wondered if it is possible to define a default display for some programs. I use very often remmina to connect to a virtual machine for working. And it would be great when it starts on display three instead of display one, because then I must move it manually to display three.

If it is possible I could launch my three most often used programs and they are displayed on the correct screens. This saves working time…

I use budgie 10.5.1 with Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS

Thanks for hints and have a nice day!

Andreas

…That’s currently being worked on in (the next version of) an addition called WindowShuffler. It will include a section called window rules, in which you can set per application on which position and/or monitor new windows will appear.

Test version will be available soon.

Thank you for your answer. I am looking forward to this feature.

Wait, if you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, you could use this snippet https://askubuntu.com/q/1108654 for the time being.

O.K., I will have a look at the snippet and try to compile and use it.

Thanks a lot!
