Hello! Hope you all are doing well.
I found an HP 635 with a Windows 10 in Swedish. One issue I’ve found with this laptop is that, even tho I have removed the swedish language and installed 2 english packages, it will not change the language and for some reason, although I can connect to my wifi it will not connect to the internet (ethernet cable works).
But that is besides the point.
I wanted to install Ubuntu Budgie to turn this laptop into a server host.
I followed the steps as instructed to use a USB to instal Budgie and remove the Windows, however, it won’t work. It will stay in a boot loop where I see the press ESC option on the bottom elft corner, HP logo, suddenly “WELCOME TO GRUD” shows up for 1 second and then it goes back to the press ESC blabla and HP logo.
I’ve found some tutorials that have very helpful fixes, but they do not apply to me, as I cannot create a custom boot directory or access the Boot Manager. It will only let me select where i want to boot from.
Anyone knows how I can fix this issue? Is the HP or the Windows cursed?
Here is the link for the reddit post I made, it might have more information. I’m doing this while taking care of my kids, so I’m loosing a bit of track of where I’ve said what.
I’ve also posted this question on the HP forum.
