Hi, are there any BIOS settings that one needs to change or grub file changes in case of Dell XPS if I am uninstalling my windows and replacing it with Budgie 20.04?
It’s a different model with an older kernel. However there are a bunch of stuff you need to consider.
My advice is to write a 20.04 image to a USB and test the wifi and bluetooth.
The newest nvidia drivers will be automatically installed as long as you tick the wifi and graphics checkbox during the install.
thanks @fossfreedom will take a look at this
If you have a single SSD in your XPS and intend to dual boot Win 10 and Ubuntu Budgie then you will have a problem. The Ubuntu installer won’t recognize your SSD until you switch your disk setting in the BIOS from RAID to AHCI. Unfortunately, once you do this Windows 10 will not boot. I used option 1 as outlined in the link below.
I just need to do a single boot and completely uninstall windows
Good, then you will only need to switch your disk setting in the BIOS from RAID to AHCI.
