Problem to open app center

Hi! I just installed Ubuntu Budgie 25.10 on an HP Pavilion laptop and I think it’s fantastic. I have a problem, though: when I try to open the app center, it opens and then closes abruptly.

Before opening the app center, I switched to the Mojave visual environment and made other aesthetic changes, such as moving the buttons for each window to the left.

I’m thinking of reinstalling Ubuntu Budgie, but if you could help me solve this, that would be great.

Hi,

if I remember correctly, app-center is called “snap-store” from a terminal.

So I would type snap-store in a terminal and see if there are any messages you can share.

sudo apt-get install libxapp-gtk3-module appmenu-gtk3-module

The above is a logical next step according to the messages you have reported.

I ran sudo apt-get install libxapp-gtk3-module appmenu-gtk3-module and this is the result:

The app center opens, but I can’t click on anything and I can’t close it from the desktop.

Hi @roquestar,

Since “snap-store” is a snap, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it?

sudo snap remove snap-store
sudo snap install snap-store

Juste in case, log out and log back in between the two commands.
