Hi,
i recently switched to Ubuntu Budgie after previously using standard Ubuntu. I like Budgie very much, but i have the following problem: When i close the Remmina window, it does not open again when i start it up. Only when i close the process i can start Remmina up again. However, if i enable “dont show symbol in notification field” (under settings > applet) the app can be opened and closed without closing the process. The symbol also does not show up (prior to disabling it) in the task bar, like it did in my previous Ubuntu installation. Is there a way to fix this?
So if you run remmina via a terminal what do you see?
It opens normally when i start it via terminal (with the symbol disabled). I get the following messages:
Remmina does not log all output statements. Turn on more verbose output by using “G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=remmina” as an environment variable.

I am more interested what you see with the symbol thingy turned on
i got this, this time it didnt open:

This looks like from a quick google that seahorse isnt installed.
thanks, i will install it and then retry
When i install it via terminal, it says its already installed
its “no tray icon” sorry for the confusion, but my system is in german
i dont see the tray icon, even when its enabled. so i can only reopen remmina, if i close the process.
Have you got the AppIndicator applet on your panel?
you have two AppIndicator Applets on your panel. Remove one and reboot.
i removed one and enabled the tray icon + reboot, its still not showing
Are there any appindicators being displayed?
Try installing diodon - run “diodon” after installation from a terminal and you should see a clipboard icon in your appindicator applet.
when i run diodon i see a paperclip icon in the applet
edit: i cant reply anymore as a new user
is this remmina installed from the repositories or some-other version?
