Steam just stopped working (18.04)

Here’s the error message from terminal:

Repairing installation, linking (my home directory)/.steam/steam to (home directory)/.local/share/Steam
Running Steam on ubuntu 18.04 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(0)
(my home directory)/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libxcb-dri3.so.0: undefined symbol: xcb_send_request_with_fds
(home directory)/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 444: no match: ssfn*

Interesting given snaps aren’t working for me either…

please report this to launchpad i.e.

ubuntu-bug steam

thanks

Stupid question: Ubuntu Budgie launchpad or Ubuntu Ubuntu launchpad? Thanks!

if you run that terminal command then it will report against the steam package on launchpad

i.e. launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam

That gave me an error dialogue box saying it couldn’t report a package not there (!?), with the following in terminal:

Gtk-Message: 11:37:39.547: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. This is discouraged.

Strange this is like the Snap problem, in that it doesn’t seem to recognize all these things are installed… I’ll report the bug manually.
