Struggling to upgrade from 24.04 to 26.04

Hello,

I want to start this by saying I am an absolute noob with Linux, I only just installed ubuntu budgie yesterday and I am loving it so far! I realised I didn’t download the most recent version, and I wanted to upgrade from 24.04 to 26.04. I tried following the instructions given on the blog but when I tried it says that everything is up to date and nothing needs to be changed. Am I doing something wrong? I know this probably a dumb question but I just wanted to know if theres something i might be missing.

Hi and welcome.

Since you installed the LTS version of UB - 24.04 - then the upgrade option will only be enabled by Canonical when the 26.04.1 release is officially available. Canonical will push the required software update to 24.04 when they are happy to.

The official date for the 26.04.1 release is the end of this month. The date when Canonical push the 26.04.1 update for 24.04 will hopefully be soon after but thats in the gift of Canonical.
