Super key (Win) not opening Budgie menu

Ubuntu-Budgie 18.04.3 LTS

I’m aware a very similar post exists: Super key (Win) stopped opening Budgie menu

However, I believe this key is set properly:
/org/gnome/mutter/overlay-key = ‘Super_L’

And I am able to use short cuts like:
Super + N
Super + A

But just using the Super key on its own does nothing…
I’m at a loss.

I cannot reproduce your issue :frowning:

I’m aware of this issue reported upstream:

Please can you describe your system. Multiple monitors? Wireless Keyboard? Graphics card? Laptop/desktp?

Just wondering if there is something different about your setup compared to most

The system is an MSI-laptop.
1 builtin monitor.
1 builtin keyboard.
Geforce GTX 970M (proprietary drivers)

You are using the right win button which budgie doesnt recognise by default

org/gnome/mutter/overlay-key = ‘Super_R’

Change your overlay key in dconf as above I am guessing

Holy heck yes that fixed it! Thank you so much.

Just a note though my keyboard only has 1 Super/Window-Key. And that 1 key was the right one as you mentioned. Is it possible to detect this so other users with only 1 super key don’t have this issue?
