Careful testing is needed please for non-english keyboard layout such as Japanese/Chinese/Korean etc etc. I have added a bug-fix into budgie-desktop so that Ibus suggestions are displayed. Just update as usual to pick up the latest budgie-desktop released over weekend just gone.
hmm … haven’t seen that before. Worth checking if this is user account specific or system wide - create a new user and login with that.
Have you installed something in ~/.themes or similar? Maybe a GTK CSS override?
Maybe a GTK CSS override?
Good catch ! I was experimenting with a Yaru GTK CSS and forgot to delete it.
Ok - squeeze in a change to budgie-pixel-saver-applet. It now handles blacklisting of apps to stop it trying to add window decorations where a window didn’t have one in the first place. e.g. Firefox, Telegram and Ulauncher. This has been backported to 20.04 & 20.10 as well.
If I may ask… Are the changes currently made to budgie-pixel-saver applet centralized somewhere for other distros to also benefit from them?
I’m using Budgie both on Ubuntu and Manjaro, and this applet is broken in there. So I had to remove it, and it makes for an inconsistent experience from one distro to another when I switch.
Look at our github fork.
I hadn’t found it with a normal search.
I saw your link in an issue of the original and eventually found the soft fork, but it’s weird that it doesn’t come up in a search or if I switch branch.
Anyway, I installed it. I had to switch off the “built-in theme” in Style, otherwise the theme controls were not matched in the top bar (even when enabling “Use Theme Styling” in the applet settings).
A double advantage of tinkering with the built-in theme option is that Raven is now matching my GTK theme. I was about to look into my CSS to solve that issue. Turns out I don’t need to.
It makes for a much more consistent experience, both in Manjaro Budgie and when switching back to Ubuntu Budgie.
I’m also a ULauncher user… So thanks a lot and even more for taking the time to improve that invaluable little applet.
All,
please can you share any screenshots of any areas of capability described in the first post. This will make creating the release note much easier - focussing on the areas you think are important to highlight.
Thanks in advance.
Sad about the lack of screenshots folks

I’ll close this topic now - testing week is with us now - so we’ll use that thread from now to release date
upstream and forks looks a bit of a mess - upstream looks dead with multiple PRs and lots of issues. Forks - not sure what is current and who is actively working on this. I’m not going to look at this until someone is identified as actively looking after the project.
