Thunderbird SNAP remove the deb version in 24.04

When I upgraded this laptop to UB 24.04 I removed the snap version of Thunderbird and installed the deb version as outlined in the article below.

So, imagine my surprise when the unattended-upgrade on 10/24 removed the deb version and reinstalled the snap version. So, what gives, do I need to remove the snap daemon to prevent this in the future?

Commandline: /usr/bin/unattended-upgrade
Upgrade: thunderbird:amd64 (1:115.15.0+build1-0ubuntu0.24.04.1~mt1, 2:1snap1-0ubuntu3)
End-Date: 2024-10-24 06:29:45

Hi @makitso.
I installed Thunderbird this way and had the same experience you had.
I didn’t look any further than that.

Have a look at “Step 6” on this page and give it a try:

Maybe I should try this myself.
