Workspace switching and other issues

Just installed and have discovered some issues. For one I can’t switch workspaces using Ctrl+Alt+R/L keys. Going to the keyboard bindings that is what it is set up to, but it doesn’t work. Funny but Super+FN+R/L get me to the very first or last workspace. Also odd is that I always do the following settings Super+W opens firefox, Super+M opens Evolution, Super+T opens Terminal, etc. All using the Super key. But none of them work! Anybody have any ideas what is going on?
