Budgie is working well but, after beginning using the default theme NOBLE for a week or two, I preferred to install CHORTIS theme.
The machine sometimes start with this one or at times with Noble, . Two themes with different set of files data, pictures, documents…, How could I get/retrieve all data together on the same theme ? I appreciate also your recommendation wether to keep
Thank you for your help.

Hi, south Corsican!
“Chortis”? You mean “Orchis”, don’t you?
But even so, I don’t really understand why you’d have two environments so different in content.
Perhaps you’re also referring to the login screen?
Thank You jlb… I mean Orchis and I’m refering to the login screen
In this case, type “log” (English) or “conn” (French) in the main menu search box to access the login screen configuration interface.
The only problem is that, as you’re not logged in at the time it’s displayed, the background image must be in a directory other than “Images” in your home directory.
Why not “usr/share/backgrounds”, where the official wallpapers are located?
You’ll need additional rights to copy the image you want, but you’ll have two different desktop and connection wallpapers.
Launch Terminal (Ctrl Alt t) and enter sudo -H nemo
.
Then press “F3” to switch to two-pane mode and seamlessly transfer your image from one directory to the other.
Hi jlb,
Sorry I goofed !
My explanation was very poor… isn’t linked with wallpaper/ fond d’écran settings.
On my PC disk there are several partitions, Windows 11, Ubuntu Jammy 22-04 and Budgie 24-04.
Due to a catastrophic error on Ubuntu Jammy… last year I lost Internet connection on Jammy after an audio app crash.
I flash by USB media choosed Budgie instead. The UEFI list of partitions shows 3 several options , I may click on the first line “*Ubuntu”, hence getting my preferred UB 24-04 flavor Orchis or on line entitled “Ubuntu 24-04” with the default Noble theme, the wrong way… and connection screen.I followed your advice on the wallpaper settings thank you… the terminal command line invoking nemo leads to a error message.
It’s true that your explanations were a little sketchy…
To sum up, you have a multiboot. In practice, this is not a problem.
As for the warnings from the terminal, they’re not that critical. They’re due to the fact that you’re launching Nemo in an unorthodox way.
Thank you for your help, timely answer and counsels.
You may close this subject,
cordialement
A une prochaine fois, sait-on jamais ?
Avec grand plaisir !
