Is there a way to change the size of the icons in the menu? And possible put them in a row?

No to both questions - That is the list view.
Listing things in a row is on the grid view.
I’m not adverse though to anyone contributing to the project to enable new capability such as you propose - https://github.com/ubuntubudgie/applications-menu
