Just wanted to check in on the status of this. I know a few people were working on it? Has anyone gotten the taskbar indicator working regularly? Thanks!
I am only aware of two people who expressed a real attempt to look at this from a development point of view.
One person dropped out… the other has begun some initial work here
From the commits it looks like some of the popup gui has been coded to work against a non kde based daemon I.e. not QT - that interfaces with your phone.
This project has been working on and off for me in Budgie: https://github.com/Bajoja/indicator-kdeconnect
That one is an appindicator based version with all the QT dependencies.
Well worth raising issues on their issue tracker since they are actively maintaining it.
