Nautilus update

I am using 20.04, and I keep getting updates for “extension for nautilus to do administrative operations”. You cannot put a check mark against it, and it never updates.

Any ideas?

Suggest drop to a terminal and run

sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade

What is the output that you see when the above is run?

Not sure why folder-color is depending on such an old version of that python module.

I would suggest you contact the folder-color maintainer.

It’s an either or situation … you can’t have both nautilus-admin and folder-color at the same time until folder-color upgrades to the newer python module.

Looks to me that it is the folder-color that is being removed. Am i wrong?

That’s what I said. If you install nautilus-admin, folder-color will be removed

So, is it safe to upgrade this or not? I am asking you because you have more knowledge about these things than I do.

folder-color is a package used to add emblems and set different colours on nautilus displayed folders.

If you have never used this capability then its safe to uninstall it.

I fixed it. The original writer updated folder-color to work with 20.04. It is found here, in case anyone else runs into this trouble

Everything is working as expected now

Nautilus, in Ubuntu Budgie 20.04 ?

To whom it may concern, the folder-color-nemo 0.0.88 available in Costales’ ppa works like a charm with Nemo 4.4.2 as provided in UB 20.04.
And ok too with multi colored Yaru icons set.
