Tray icons trigger right mouse button action when clicked with left button

Every time I click with left button on tray icons of the built in Applet “AppIndicator Applet” it emulates the right button action instead of left button as usual. If I click with right button it does nothing.

For example: If I minimize Spotify to tray and click on it using the left button it shows me the context menu with options “Show Spotify” and “Exit”, instead of opening it immediately.

If I use the built in Applet “System Tray” it behaves the same way but inverse, I need to use the right button to open the menu (which is the normal behavior) but the left button does nothing.

The left click nature is how appindicators work

Its really up to the provider - in this case spotify - to comply with the specification.
