Ubuntu Budgie Website Rendering

The Ubuntu Budgie website is not properly rendering in Windows 11, using either Microsoft Edge Version 100.0.1185.44 (Official build) (64-bit) or Firefox 99.0.1 (64-bit). I checked on several computers.

Page text is present but rendering in white, as follows (screenshot from Firefox):

The problem is not present on either Microsoft Edge or Firefox running on Ubuntu Budgie 22.04. Text renders normally in those cases.

Weird. Don’t have Windows 11 to test but it is quite weird problem. It probably has something to do with Windows 11.

I just did a bit more checking:

Windows 11 Microsoft Edge 100.0.1185.44 - Problem Manifests
Windows 11 Firefox 99.0.1 – Problem Manifests

Windows 10 Microsoft Edge 100.0.1185.44 - Problem Manifests
Windows 10 Firefox – Not Installed Not Tested

Solus Budgie Microsoft Edge - Not Installed Not Tested
Solus Budgie Firefox 99.0 - Problem Manifests

Zorin 16 Microsoft Edge 100.0.1185.44 - Does Not Manifest
Zorin 16 Firefox 99.0 - Problem Manifests

Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 Beta Microsoft Edge 100.0.1184.44 - Does Not Manifest
Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 Beta Firefox 99.0.1 - Problem Manifests

Edit/Update: I feel like Tom Sawyer counting spoons. I want to recheck Firefox on Ubuntu Budgie. I think I got a different result earlier.

Edit/Update #2: I can confirm that the problem manifests on Ubuntu Budgie 22.04 Beta using Firefox 99.0.1. In short, the list above is correct.

Each of the computers (except the Windows 10 computer), are Dell Optiplex Micro or Dell Latitude, running i7 Core chips of various recent generations, all running onboard Intel graphics - Intel Iris Xe, Intel UHD 630 or Intel UHD 530 depending on the computer. The Windows 10 computer is a Dell Inspiron running an AMD A-9 chip with onboard AMD R5 graphics.

Hey Tom, thanks for reporting it. Try now. It could be that the problem arose due to testing out compatibility with dark reader mode.

Works fine (didn’t yesterday) on Windows 11 Edge/Firefox and Solus Budgie Firefox. I think it is nailed. I’ll check on the other computers/browsers as I use them during the day, but I don’t expect to be reporting any issues. I use default/dark themes. I should have mentioned that … Thanks so much for chasing this down.
